Mystic Caravan Circus is heading to the West Coast, and while everyone is happy for the change of scenery there's a pall settling over the group.

A fight is coming, and the enemy is different from anything they've ever faced. They're outnumbered and might find themselves outmaneuvered.

Who will survive? More importantly, who will be lost to something even worse than death? Sometimes death really is better.

my review
a few notes

Freaky Places is my favorite of the series so far! It was so intense, dark, and deep. And the sense of anticipation was so strong. The addition of creepy dolls really added to the story, adding an element of fear and horror to it all.

I love the snark and humor of Poet and the others. It’s a light-hearted element needed in the midst of the fear and the suspense.

One thing I could do without… Kade’s constant questioning and hovering over Poet. I get caring and worrying, but it comes off as if she is incapable of managing her own life and responsibilities. As if she hadn’t been doing just that for years before meeting her.

But all in all, a fun read!
