the blurb

The witch who can talk to animals meets the witch with a talking cat. What could go wrong?
It’s Valentine’s Day in Winterspell, but not everyone appears to be feeling the love. And no, I’m not talking about my date-less self.

Instead of being wooed by candlelight, I’m working in a candle shop. Cora Hearth, Winterspell’s magical chandler, has teamed up with Sugar Shack to create party favors for the lucky couples, and they’re counting on us to spark some magic for their special night.

So, when a thief breaks into my delivery van and swipes the goodies, Cora and I—and her persnickety talking cat—have to join forces to track down the culprit in time to save Valentine’s Day.

my review

This book ties into the Nine Lives Magic Mysteries series, bring in Cora from that series. They meet and become friends when Ella has to deliver a huge batch of cookies to Cora’s candle shop. When the cookies are stolen from Ella’s delivery van, the two combine forces to solve the mystery.

It’s a short one, but the story is full and complete. But the real star of it? Selene, Cora’s talking cat. And she’s a cat with attitude!

About Danielle Garrett

From a young age, Danielle Garrett was obsessed with fantastic places and the stories set in them. As a lifelong bookworm, she’s gone on hundreds of adventures through the eyes of wizards, princesses, elves, and some rather wonderful everyday people as well.

Danielle lives in Oregon, and while she travels as often as possible, she wouldn’t call anywhere else home. She shares her life with her husband and their house full of animals, and when not writing, spends her time being a dedicated servant for three extremely spoiled cats.
