the blurb
Six years ago, he was her one-night stand, and now they’re sharing a villa for the holidays.
I thought I was over him. That his good looks and British accent couldn’t affect me anymore. But the minute our eyes lock across the elevator, all those feelings come roaring back to life.
Then I find out we’re competing for the same job.
Next comes the realization that we have to spend a week together on a ski vacation because of some six-degree-of-separation nonsense.
The real kicker is when I find out the two of us have to share a villa. A very small, very cozy villa.
Needless to say, this Christmas getaway is starting off rockier than the mountains we’ll be skiing down.
I’ve stayed away for years, what’s one week? But I forgot how much easier it is to ignore him with an ocean separating us—especially when he’s determined to win me back.

my review
This ticks all the boxes for a great holiday romance. There’s no unnecessary drama, no last-act obstacles. Just two highly-relatable characters who find themselves thrown together unexpectedly after years apart.
Brynn is a fabulous FMC! She’s smart and independent, as well as completely self-aware. She was hurt by her past with Pierce, but she didn’t hold petty grudges. Pierce as an MMC is equally as great. He owned up to the mistakes he made with Brynn, fully took responsibility for his behavior. And while not pushing her, he makes it clear he cares and wants a second chance.
What really helped underline the second-chance trope was how different they were with each other when they met again from their first time together. The relationship they are finally able to have is nothing like what they would have had in years past. They’ve both grown up, experienced life, and found their own ways through it. That made the dynamic between them that much stronger and beautiful.
