the blurb
When a tragic accident draws Rachel to her hometown after seven years, her carefully constructed walls begin to crumble. Her childhood friend has died and she's thrust into caring for his daughter with her high school boyfriend and jilted fiance. Technically, Rachel said no to the proposal.
Julian is now tettering between his guilt, caring for his friend's daughter and sharing space with the one who got away. Little does Rachel know, he's been pining for her since the moment she left despite marrying someone else.
Can they overcome their choices and find their way back to each other? Or will a security breach and family issues come between them for good?
The Scala Talent & Sports Management series features the staff and clients of the company. Each book is a standalone romance with interconnecting characters. Each novel focuses on one couple (no cliffhangers!) and can be read in any order, but but for maximum enjoyment it is recommended they are read starting with book one.

I’m a sucker for second-chance romances. I love the idea that people can find their ways back to each other, even as changed and evolved versions of themselves. Vidal gives the reader exactly that, wrapped in a story that is deeply emotional, moving, and beautiful, as well as suspenseful.
The plot is rooted in sadness and grief, but it is handled with such grace and understanding. As someone who’s dealt with loss and grief, there’s a respect for someone who can put that in the page in a real way. It is through that sadness that beauty and love are found, and that’s such a hopeful thing.
Another thing the author does so well is suspense. This book, like so many of her others, has a fantastic suspense element that keeps the reader turning the pages.
