the blurb

What Does a Harvest Festival and Zero Pumpkins have to do with a Dead Guy?

It's time for the annual Harvest Festival in Goodsprings, Georgia as tourists and vendors pour into the small town. Everyone is excited until a vendor meets his reward....and not in a good way. He wasn't the most pleasant of fellows, but who or what wanted him dead? Does the Otter King have a clue?

Tessa, fire witch, stood up Ethan, the new detective in town. But why? Tessa won't divulge much to Sam, and Ada, Ethan's twin, blames Tessa for her brother's somber mood.

Black magic has sickened Mara and her mother steps in to take over wind witch duties. But has black magic escaped to cause havoc and possibly death within the town? And why the heck are all the pumpkins missing?

my review

The book starts soon after the end of The Potion Commotion, and the town is still trying to get back to normal. But for the witches, getting back to normal is easier said then done when one of them begins to experience unexpected fallout. Worse, the coven is still suffering the loss of one of its members, which has thrown them off kilter. Nor do they truly get a chance to take breath and find their new normal before Harvest Festival is upon them. That means thousands of tourists descending on the small town, a pumpkin shortage… and another murder.

This is another fun cozy mystery with its fair share of twists and turns. And quirky characters, of course!

About Constance Barker

Constance Barker lives in the Midwest with her husband and two Akitas where she can look out from her screened porch onto a wooded area brimming with activity. Since she was a young girl she read mysteries, often given to her by her grandmother. She loved figuring out who the culprit was and sometimes she was right and other times startled at who the author picked as the assailant. Now she enjoys writing mysteries herself. When she isn’t writing stories, she can be found in her favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas or shopping for bargains.
